Linux Kernel Performance and stability improved with 2.6.34
Last years Linux was not very stable on my desktop (mostly due to commercial kernel extensions like Nvidia which affect the whole system a lot).
But the 2.6.34 kernel (Linux avk 2.6.34-gentoo-r12) works pretty well for a last month. Moreover, it works pretty fast, and the parallelism is not affecting my work a lot. At the moment, I am running a few emerge commands in parallel, Sysload is 12, but flash music playing, and my development work is not afected greatly.
